The Resurgence of Hiring and Lasting Impacts

It has been a full year since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, and since then the virtual interview is now as ubiquitous as masks and hand sanitizing stations.

And while most of us are ready to ditch the 6-foot bubble and get back to hugs, many of the changes to hiring are here to stay. Talent teams quickly adopted tech to safely hire and as a result ended up with a more efficient hiring process and an improved candidate experience.

To better understand the hiring changes and challenges of the time, we surveyed 1,142 hiring leaders across the U.S., Australia, and the United Kingdom. The Global Hiring Landscape Survey explored how hiring has transformed, and examined the unique role technology is serving for hiring leaders across key verticals and regions, in companies of all sizes.

Key findings

Diversity, equity and inclusion isn’t just a nice-to-have. One hundred percent of respondents say DEI is “extremely relevant” or “very relevant” to them.

Virtual interviews are here to stay. Fifty-four percent said virtual interviews resulted in a speedier recruitment process, and 41% say it helped them identify the best candidates.

Hiring leaders want less busy work & more candidate connection. Fifty-one percent of respondents say they want to spend less time on scheduling, and more time engaging with candidates.

Companies that don’t adapt their hiring processes now will become obsolete when the next, inevitable disruption is here. Download the report and see which trends you should be prioritizing.
