Emirates NBD uses AI and skills validation to transform volume hiring

Emirates NBD is one of the largest banks in the Middle East, with upwards of 30,000 employees, a presence in 7 countries and a strong growth trajectory. Faced with up to 8000 applications for some roles, Emirates NBD wanted to truly assess what quality was in its talent pipeline, beyond traditional qualifications and banking experience.

They turned to Hirevue’s AI-driven asynchronous video assessments to make volume hiring effective, scalable and candidate-friendly. A seamless two-way integration with Oracle was also an essential component of the project.

In less than a year since the new approach launched, the use of Hirevue has saved 8,000 recruiter hours and $400,000, reduced time-to-offer by 80%, and resulted in an NPS uplift of over 100%. Critically, there has also been a quality and performance increase of more than 20% for candidates hired through the new process.

What began as a solution for high-volume call-centre roles is now being scaled across the bank and international entities, forming part of a wider shift toward skills validation and intelligent workforce planning.
